Winter nights in California can become very
cold. Somtimes the temperatures reach below 32°F and frost
may endanger plants. For the local citrus industry, this may become a
severe problem and can endanger
the work of a whole year with losses of thousands of dollars.
With our helicopters we are able to reduce the risk of this industry.
We will hover closely over the fields and keep the plants moving with
our downwash - this reduces the risk of frost extremely.
This operation is very strenuous for the pilots and are mostly operated
at night.
If you should have interest in frost flights in order to save your plants
it is very important for us, that you
tell us in advance, when and where you want us to fly.
Please tell us as soon as possible via telephone, so we are able to gather
all details we need and make
a proper planning.
SAN FRANCISCO, January 2007: “California's citrus industry may have
lost $1 billion after freezing
weather destroyed still-maturing oranges and lemons, according to Governor
Arnold Schwarzenegger.”
