Costs of training


The solo price for a R22 flight hour is $225, the dual price (including instructor) is $260. These are block prices, which means, the student pays in advance and there is always a minimum of $1000 on the account of the student. If you want to pay each flight hour separate, there will be an upcharge of 5%. The prices are valid till 12.31.2010.
For your training from zero up to commercial pilot you will have to calculate $39900.
There will also be $200 for a accident insurance. This means you pay $500 for a possible damage on a helicopter in the beginning of your training. If there was no accident, we will pay $300 back to you at the end of your training. If there should have been a damage we will keep the $500, which split in $200 for the insurance and $300 deductible.


For your accomodation and living costs here in San Luis Obispo you will have to calculate approximately
$1200 per month.
The fee for the registration at the TSA is an extra $130


1.Private pilot helicopter

2.From zero to commercial pilot (including private pilot without IFR)

· 2x FAA written test 200,-
· 2x FAA check ride and oral exam including helicopter rent 1.200,-
(private and commercial pilot)
· medical class 3


· Total US$ 39.970,-

(In this price there is the possibility to include the flight instructor certificate. The only extra costs will be for your check ride and the theory)


The prices above are based on the minimum requirements of the FAA Federal Aviation Administration) and are for your orientation in financial planning. For a private pilot license you should calculate an extra 10 to 30 hours above the minimum. The total hours required for the CPL (150hrs) should be good enough and not exceeded.
The time during your commercial pilot training can also be used for your CFI training.
The additional price for your CFI training should not exceed $1000.
