My name is Peter Stähli, I am thirty-nine years old and began flying ten years ago. To date I have flown 5000 hours in helicopters and 500 hours in airplanes. After gaining my Commercial Helicopter Licence in Australia, I spent my first 1000 hours mustering cattle with a Robinson R-22. I then flew Jet Rangers and Hughes 500 for Hevi-Lift in Papua New Guinea.
Back in my native country, Switzerland, I was employed as a logging pilot with Bell 205 (Iroquois) and Lama for Heliswiss. In 1991 I flew an Aerospatiale Ecureuil doing high altitude commercial work and rescues for the REGA (Swiss Air Ambulance) in the Swiss Alps. In the winter of 1991/92 I finally had the time to do additional advanced flight training in the USA. Now I have an Airline Transport Pilot Licence for helicopters and airplane and I am also an instructor for helicopter and instrument helicopter.
In America I worked for a flight school as a flight instructor. Working as an instructor I realised that high quality flight training can only be done in a smaller school where the student is not only a number. I started HELIPRO in San Luis Obispo 1992 and so far we had great success in training young helicopter pilots and in many cases also get them to work as helicopter pilots.
