Due to it´s excellent flight characteristics and it´s direct control capability, the Robinson R22 is the perfect
helicopter for your training.

Peter Stahli, the owner of helipro already flew 1500 hours on the Robinson R22 and loves it for training
pruposes because of its limited power. This forces the pilot to use the limited power the ideal way. Later
in your professional career you will work with much higher powered helicopters, but very often, due to
the kind of operation, you might even fly this helicopters at their limit.
This is the reason why it is important to start very early with limited powered helicopters.

R22 or Hughes?

Once you inform yourself about helicopter training you will be forced to think about this question. For the
proper decission it is important to know, what you want to do after your flight training with your abilities
and knowledge. If you only want to fly around with friends and if you do not think to become a commercial
helicopter pilot, than it might be good to fly a part of your training on a Hughes 300.
But if you intend to become a commercial pilot, there is no way to start your career without a proper
experience in a Robinson R22. The reason for this is, that their will be a major chance, that the R22 will
become your first working helicopter. Therefore it is most important to gain as many flight hours as
possible on a R22. If your fist job is cattle mustering or working as a flight instructor, there will always be
a minimum of 150hrs required on a Robinson R22. If you do not have this experience there will be very
little chances to get your first job, because the helicopter insurances often require high experience on
the R22.
Helipro does not only want to give you the best training, Helipro is also focused to give you the best
setup for your first helicopter job and this is the reason, why we train on the R22
